Community Coffee Mornings in aid of Macmillan

Here at St Catherines Care Home everyone is one big family, and so when our Senior Care Assistant Gina was diagnosed with breast cancer we all decided to raise money in aid of such a worthy cause.

Through selling tickets for our event and raffle, we raised over £2000 for The Christie Charity. We would like to thank all of our residents and their families, the rest of our team members and everyone from our local community who helped us to raise such an incredible amount.

In a beautiful display of solidarity and friendship, Care Assistant Elaine at St Catherines Care Home also shaved her hair in aid of The Christie to support her friend and colleague Gina.

Resident Norman, 80, said, “I can’t wait until Gina is back.”

Home Manager Gillian said, “Everyone at St Catherine’s would like Gina to know how proud we are of her, and we’re all counting down the days until she’s back working with us. She is an inspiration and we hope that she is back in good health soon.”

St Catherines Care Home is located in Horwich, Bolton, and provides residential care, nursing care and nursing dementia care.
